Philippe Clicquot opened a house in Reims in 1772. At the age of 27, Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin, the widow Clicquot, took over the family wine business in 1805. Veuve Clicquot is one of the most significant houses in Champagne.
Veuve Clicquot Vintage 2015 Champagne is a brut white blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier. 10% of wines are aged in large oak casks.
Nose: "Orange, grapefruit, citrus fruit zest, dried apricot, dates, marmalade, toast, biscuit and praline."
Palate: "This wine stands out for its elegance, tension and energy. The first impression is of its tension, verticality and minerality, after which the wine unfolds its aromas of toast, roasted coffee beans and praline. The excellent structure makes this a fine, upstanding vintage."
